We regret to announce that we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with the Championships this year.
Restrictions may now be easing but access is not yet available to everyone. Some of our hosts are only opening their doors for the first-time next week and there remains an element of uncertainty ahead. It continues to be our aim to deliver a professional event with the prestige it deserves, providing competitors and spectators worldwide with the full experience of superb fishing and warm Irish hospitality. We will return in 2022 when we can deliver to you the first-class angling experience we are all accustomed to. The World Pairs Angling Championships, an elite festival of coarse angling attracting competitors from across Europe, the UK and as far as South Africa, remains committed to the promotion of angling in Ireland. Stephen McCaveny, Marketing Manager DAIWA Sports says: "The World Pairs is one of three prestigious events sponsored by DAIWA Sports UK; the others being the Rosslare Small Boats Festival and the Sea Angling Shore Pairs, all realise worldwide support of Ireland’s angling product. It is our aim to see all three events return in 2022."
