Bio-Security measures to limit the spread of invasive species.
In accordance with the bio-security rules set to limit the spread of invasive species across Ireland's rivers and lakes all anglers will be required to dip their nets prior to drawing their daily peg. Coded wrist bands will be provided to anglers daily upon dipping and must be present at the draw and weigh-in to qualify.
World Pairs take this subject very seriously and ask all anglers to help with the protection of the waters on the island of Ireland. We therefore ask that you read carefully the rules below and give respect to the Draw Officer at all times.

Disinfection against Invasive Species and Fish Pathogens at the World Pairs Angling Championships.
Disinfection Tanks and Disinfection Bins containing a disinfection solution will be located at each competition draw centre.
Anglers will fully immerse landing and keep nets, as well as stink bags, before proceeding to draw their peg. Boots and waders should also be dipped and scrubbed in marked Disinfection Bins located adjacent to the Disinfection Tanks.
Protective gloves will be provided on site.
The nets, bags and boots should be left for 15 minutes before rinsing. Clearly marked clean water Rinse Tanks or an area where the gear can be hosed down with clean water will be provided.
Having dipped the angling gear, the angler will receive a coded wrist band/or card from the Biosecurity steward.
Anglers must display the coded wrist band/or card to the Draw Officer in order to draw his/her peg.
Weigh slings are disinfected before the weigh-in commences.

Zebra Mussels - STOP THE SPREAD
In addition in support of the initiatives in place with the respective fisheries we ask all anglers to carry out the following processes to help prevent the spread of Zebra mussels and aquatic plants.
• Ensure that all equipment is fully dried out or immersed in hot water before use in a different water body. Do not transfer water.
• Ensure keep nets or landing nets do not have zebra mussels attached.
• Do not return bait bucket water to an uninfected lake.
• Do not re-use bait if it has been exposed to infested waters.
• Do not use zebra mussels as bait in uninfected waters.
Note: it is illegal under Article 15 of the Wildlife Order (NI) 1985 to cause the further spread of these species to an unconnected water body. This information is provided in accordance with Inland fisheries Ireland and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency.
