Day One - Monday 2nd September
Close to the village of Bawnboy in the heart of the lakelands area of Ireland's Hidden Heartlands you will find Brackley and Bunerky Lakes. Prospect Bay at Brackley Lake enhanced with the kind permission of the landowner; this venue is now barrow friendly with a path along the back of the shore line. Access is a little more difficult at Bunerkly Lake but its a prime spot for the pleasure angler! Both venues lend themselves to catches of skimmers and bream on the feeder.
Heads down on the feeder was Dirk Eklenkamp winning the county section with 21.570kg of mainly bream from Bunerky. The top weight on Brackley Lake came from Darren Davies who had 13.650kg. He swapped between pole and feeder to keep the fish coming which appears to be the best approach on this venue.
The day was won by Steve Wheeldon on Inish Fovar in Fermanagh with 36.580kg.
