Lakelands & Inland Waterways World Pairs Angling Championship

MONDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER to FRIDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2013

It's not hard to describe the Irish experience, great angling, beautiful countryside, hospitality and the craic'.  Combine this with the Richest Coarse Match Ever and you have the 'Lakelands & Inland Waterways World Pairs Angling Championship'!  Match fishing in Ireland at it's best.
The Lakelands and inland Waterways initiative, both government fisheries bodies and local councils in Ireland have come together once again to provide sponsorship for this successful match providing a guaranteed prize fund of €30,000 for the Pairs! Add this to the €9,800 in tackle sponsorship from DAIWA and the optional Individuals Match running inside the Pairs, and this is still the richest coarse match in Ireland!
Amateur or Pro you are in with a chance and whether you win or not, nothing beats the fabulous wild fishing in the beautiful Irish countryside. From well known international venues to locally known angling spots the Lakelands region showcases them all to you.


'Lakelands  & Inland Waterways is pleased to continue to support this prestigious competition during 2013 and was delighted with the level of interest it generated nationally and internationally during its inaugural year. Through its continued involvement, the partners in the Lakelands and Inland Waterways initiative are delighted to see Ireland reinstated as the premier destination for fishing, and the Lakelands and Inland Waterways region of Ireland at the top of everyone's wish list of places to visit!
The hugely successful format remains, there will be some tweaks to processes and some new innovative ideas but this match is still designed to highlight the good angling available in the Lakelands region.  This year the match moves slightly to incorporate new venues and create a hub around Carrick on Shannon.  This bustling town has been a favourite of the anglers for years and allows us to showcase the wonderful River Shannon.


Entry is limited to 150 Pairs after which time a wait list will be held.
